Last post

I'm finally home, remembering my last days in Gävle, in the ghetto. It's nice to be back home, but I fell a little bit weird and ackward, and of course I miss you all guys. It has been a nice experience, the possible end for my studies. I will remember all of you, some more than others, and I also expect that you remember me. You know, you will have a place to stay in the Basque Country if you want to come and visit me.

Ewa: Goodbye my lover, good bye my allmost lover... See you around, someday, somehow. In Edinburgh, Kraków or my town, but we have to meet somewhere. Good luck with everything. For the next year we have to arrange a meeting for watching Lost together.

Celia: We have it easier to visit each other and I hope we will do it. You have been a great friend, I hope we will manage to keep in touch. I will remember you whenever I take a Tequila. :-P

Natalia: I'll still remember the day that you came to my place in your way to the take out the garbage. Whenever you feel yourshelf like that time, remember that you have me in the other side of the phone, ready to listen; and do not hesitate, you are a great girl and you can do whatever you want to do.

Laura: Good luck with your long distance relation ship. It seems to be complicate sometimes, but is not, you only need to be patient and a good internet conection. ;-) Good luck with your proyect, you can do it!

Lourdes, Rita, Alejandro, Roger, Dani Barcos, Dani Sanchez, Aitor, Xabi, Ana, Tala, Seb, David, Alba, Eli, Mateo, Ivan, Pascal, Yohann, Elise, Liesje, Susi, Eva, Yunus, Emma, Rafa, Javi, Milena, Carmela, Beata, Maddy, Sofia, Mariano, Victoria, Monica, Sergio, Marcos, Ana Maria, Jolien, Carlos, David, Marta, Ruth, Mustafa, Nina, Bernard, Nieck, Nils, Philip, Filipe, Carlos, Belen, Cecile, Femke, Laura, Tiia, Karen, Annelies, Guillaume, Bavo, Cindy....

I'm sure that I forget to mention someone, but don't worry, you are in my mind when I remember the Erasmus experience. You all make it memorial. Tack så mycket!!!

War in Sätra

Today we have been doing paintball. It was fun!!! I like it! when is the next one?
But it hurts, when they hit you, it hurts! But I was lucky, or good, and they hit me only twice. However, one of them was in the head, so it hurts even more.
It was a rainny day and not so funny to roll in the ground but anyway we have fun. Those that hasn't came have miss a good activity in the wild wild Gävle. I'm sorry Celita and Ewa, you miss a good one.

This week we recieved a package from Belgium: Thank you very much Eva!! but, fucking post office employes took our belgium chocolate and some ducks from it. Strange, really strange, because they left there the alcohol. Anyway thank you Ewa! we also miss you!

Hormonas alteradas

ummm, spring is here, and Swedish boy has started to look handsome, aren't they Natalia?
This was during the voleyball competition that was organized by the student union on friday. The same night they where hosting the last university party for this academic year. And there we were looking after the same boys that Natalia had seen in the morning. :D Some of them where already known by our eyes ( isn't it celia?). But yes, sometimes big muscles means little brain.

It was a good party but I wasn't on my best shape. Last week I was ill and friday was my first day without fiber, my throat still hurt, so I didn't drink (only one beer in all the party). But you know, the good thing of being the only one sober around is that you realized of everything. :P

And now, the good new: yesterday I finished my fucking thesis!! now I only have to make a project for Bilbao and the presentation. Yes, yes!!! yuju!!!

Ainhoa, start planing Mungia or Bilbao or Erandio, I don't care! but prepare something by the time that I arrive.

ps. Eva, thank you for your invitation, Belgium beers sound without doubt better than the swimmingpool :P I miss you too!

Dinner with Susi + Heart Break Hotel

Another weekend went by. Today is hangover day, so don't expect to much about this entrance.

Yesterday night Susi came home and cooked for us some tipical autrian meal: Delicious!
Then we drank some shots and we remenbered those ones who had already left. Here you can see Liesje and Elise :P

Good polish vodca!
After we stopped at Dani maño's place before going to Heart Break Hotel, also known as Headache hotel. As it was Susi's last night out in the wild wild Gävle, we took some fisherman shots and we danced like Swedish girls.

Coming back home by bus, you know: if you drink, don't drive, even if is just a bike. Some stole a poster and is now hanging on their living room, I don't want to point no one, but.... =)Finally afterparty at Roger and Dani's place and we went bed when the day was really out. If you wonder, it doesn't get very dark at nights up here now.
Here Jose sleeping in his favourite place: :P

Time for...

Is time for goodbyes, sadly, we have say godbye to allmost all the Belgium people and by the end of this month it will be only spanish people arond here (and of course, Ewa and Seb, but they are already spanish). Eva, Liesje and Elise: we will miss you! Good luck in everything, with your thesis and your dreams. Go to Malasia, learn hairdressing.... do what you want.

Is time for final countdown, 4 weeks left in Sweden, no less no more. Or maybe less. My parents are coming the 13th of june and I'm going with them to visit the south, which means that my gueto hours are coming to an end. Perhaps I prefer it that way, I prefer to be the one that leaves, I don't want to say more goodbyes, I don't want to stay here watching empty appartments...

Is time for working for the thesis, even I thought I was finish. But I'm not going to stress. Is not a thesis for an A, but that's not what I'm looking for. The 1st of june is my deadline and the 10th of june I'll presented. After that I will be free! yes!

Is time for start thinking on the future. I have start sending some CV's, let's see how it goes. You know, this big word that is everyones mouth: CRISIS! I don't know, maybe I'm lucky or maybe not. If I have the summer free, I'm not going to complain.

So is time for start thinking on vacations, any idea of where can I go?

Valvorg i Uppsala

As a goodbye party to the winter and a wellcome party to the spring Swedish people do big celebrations called Valvorg, an one of the biggest one is in Uppsala. This is a city next to Gävle, so as we didn't want to miss it, we took the train and we arrive to the crowded and sunny Uppsala.

Fields with thousend of students lying, drinking and listening to the concerts where waiting for us. Kind of kilometroak in the Basque Country, but adding the variable of the swedish. I love it! really nice party!Beers exchanged for a kiss in the cheek, Argentinian guy selling jewelery, stolen rings... And tons of rubbish, I have never seen so many plastic bags covering the grass.... Swedish!

Birthday party, minigolf and barbecue

Hej!

This weekend has been a weekend for nothing, just for sun. On friday we celebrated Elise and Alba's party at our apartment. It was a quiet party, everybody left before 2. Everybody? no! some unbeatable stay (as Asterix and Obelix) waiting for the people from Heartbreak. That's one of the pictures of the afterparty, that may give you an idea of how the night went. I had fun, the best end possible for a bad party. We went to bed at 7 with a terrible sun in our rooms. If you wonder, at half past three (3.30!!!) the day starts breaking!!! and at 5 more or less, Celia and I have a spotlight in our room. The songs of the night were that and that. Poor Ewa and her friend that were trying to sleep in the room next to the living room, where we were laughing and speaking, when we went to bed, they were getting up for doing turism in Gävle. Sorry Ewa! :D
On saturday, after a little bit of cleaning (it's amazing how a quite party could be so dirty!), we went to have lunch outside. The weather was excellent (swedish girls were in bikini sunbathing) and we took the opportunity to play basketball and minigolf.

On sunday we did a barbecue. Elise, the scout, made the fire and we lie on the sun until the cloud came and we had to go home.

Finally I didn't went to Croacia (stupid of me) and it seems that i'm not going neither to Lithuania. What a pity!!!

Celia, I'm going to make a little of blackmailing from here: I want to go with you to Gotland!!! Go with the boys to the south, Roger will take care of you so don't worry! please.....

Surprises and Godbyes

You will be wondering what has happened to me the last weeks that I haven't write nothing, sorry I was busy with my surprise! :D

On saturday 4, Joseba came to visit me without saying nothing. At least he was lucky and he found Eli at the train station. Otherwise, he would have arrived home and have found no one. That's the problem of this erasmus busy life, you are not at home when people tries to reach you. But he did and we spend two splendid weeks together. The shame is that yesterday he had to go. :-(

And our little Ana also left to Menorca (and her red hair). I miss her so much around here. She was one of the best for talking and partying, the best combination possible. Ana, see you in Menorca or/and (why choose where? Both!) Barna!

What happened in those two weeks? Celia went to Turku and have sauna and bath on the sea after. Ewa went to Edimburgh to visit her polish friend and she had fun speaking polienglish. Roger went to Barna and enjoyed the good weather. We had the goodbye lunch of Ana, goodbye party of Jolien, the visit of Lourdes sister and Angelito and his friends.... Ah! and the visit of some (actually, a lot! and all from the same town!) people from Navarra....

And I? I enjoyed the company. We visited Helsinki and Stockholm (again). We played pool and we went to the bowling. We went to eat typical Swedish food (don't do that ever!). But to sum up, we have fun just with the company of each other.
Sadly, now is time to work, to see if I have time to go to Lithuania at the end of the month.

Another week has started, that means that another weekend has finished, and therefore that the coming back home is getting closer. I don't know why but, since I came here after Christmas I'm thinking in the end. Maybe is because the people from the first semester is missing and the new arrivals are leaving soon. Only a few will survive in the wild Gävle! :D

This weekend we had a lunch at home. Mateo has the idea of cooking some chiken in the oven, and so we did. It was a typical spanish lunch: we started late cooking, a lot of food in the table and all speakin spanish loudly. Poor Ewa! Sorry my girl!
And after the lunch, a little rest and we were ready for Phillips birthday party. He received as a present a comforting (consolador in spanish) which looks like a can of beer. After some long iceland tees, we went to Hang Loose. A typical swedish night with short skirts and drunk people.
On sunday I went to Eva's to have breakfast (at 12 o'clock) with them. She had made a chocolate bread and she want me to try it. Delicious! Look at the picture and jugde by your self.
Ah! Celia's mom and her boyfriend had been here visiting us. It has been nice.
That is all more or less for today. See you!!

Sun!!!

Today is a sunny cold day in Sweden. Here is like a couple, if is sun, is cold, they are always together. Anyway is nice to see the sun, although is not so nice to wake up at 5.30 am (I don't have good blinds in my room), is nice to have light at 6.30 pm. Is so weird! You have to realize that the first semester, we had so little hours of sun up here. Let's say, that in December, the sun raises around 9 am and for 3 pm was completly dark. And you never could see the sun up, it was always a little above the horizont.
(A picture of the train station this Tuesday, and remember, it is spring now!!)
My sister left Gävle on Tuesday, but she arrived home with one day of delay and without luggage. Fucking Iberia!!! Finally she is at home and with her things, and that is what matters, but fucking Iberia!!! jejeje!
After my sister has gone, my week hasn't been so busy. I have been working in my final course with Jose(eh, ves ya te nombro!) and Lourdes. After having some discussions with the computer, we got to simulate something. Now the only thing that we have to do is to write the report and the master courses are finished. Iuju!!!

But... I have to work on my thesis, and instead of that I do everything else, like write this post. :-P However, yesterdays work went quite good, so I am not going to complain. I have a lot of work to do, but things are going well.

Yesterday night Tiaa, the Finnish girl, was celebrating her birthday with a party in the basement (sorry, I don't have pictures). She arranged some games, like hula-hop and this stuff. A different party, that is the definition.

This weekend we are only two at home, Celia has leave us today to go to Stockholm to meet her mother there. We are going to miss you! :-P

And now, is time to work. I hope everything is ok for all of you that have come back home (Ainhoa and Txomin) and you find the "job of your dreams" as soon as possible.

Requesting the anonimous petition, here I am telling you about Lourdes birthday party, Ice BBQ and my fabulous flat mates...

Friday 13. Lourdes Birthday Party
It was the birthday of one of the prettiest girl of Gävle and we celebrated it with a party. We prepared some marshmallows with chocolate. After taking some tequila shots at home we were ready for the party. It was a "spanish" party, with flowers in the hair and all this stuff. At 11 more or less, people went to the center so we continue the party in our flat. And that's, roughly speaking, the end of the party for me. I went to bed, let's say that I was tired. :P

Saturday 14. Ice BBQ
Who has said that the bikes are for summer? We are erasmus in Sweden and we use the bicycle allmost every day, don't matter if is snowing or raining. So we decide that we can also do a barbacue. Well, actually it was Phillips and Bernard idea. They made a great job making an ice bar, a fridge and sofa. It was cold, but cool. In the middle of the event, we took the pulkas (is a kind of trineo) and we went to go down the hill, to play with the snow. It was really funny going down fast, all dark with the only light of an streetlight and the moon.
Sunday 15. My sister is coming!
I went to the airport to pick up my sister. She arrived ok, with a little delay but without any trouble she got to give me the cider and the cheese. Ummmm! At night we went to Mateo's place to make some pizzas. Delicious! Who would think that Ana knows how to cook anything else but white rice?
Monday 16. Stockholm
I went to Stockholm with my sister. After spending all day doing some sightseing, we tried to take the bus for taking the boat to Tallin. The thing is that we took it in the wrong direction, and after a long history we arrive to the harbor, just in time to took the ship. We were the last ones getting in!
Tuesday 17. Tallin
We arrived to Tallin at 10 in the morning with a terrible weather: snow and more snow. We enjoy the city, but when you can not take the nose out of the scarf, is not so nice experience. At noon, we went to a restaurant to have lunch and that was allmost the end of the sightseing. We didn't want to go out, it was cold and wet. Ane bought some typical hat of Estonia.
Wednesday 18. Back home
We were supposed to spend the day in Stockholm, but we had to come back to Gävle. I had a meeting with my thesis supervisor. I told him that I am not taking the thesis that the company offered me and that I was going to continue with the energy analysis of the Basque Country. I have already arranged my public defense: 10 june, 11 o'clock. This day I'll became an engineer, but I have a lot of work to do until then. Now the fun history: we went directly from the train station to the university with a box of 24 beers in the bus. We look really funny, and even more when we fell in the bus. I have big bruises in my arms and legs because of this. Is hard to be an erasmus in sweden! The alcohol is expensive!

Thursday 19. Gävle
We visited Gävle. It has not so much to see: the park, all white with snow; the old town; and the mall. That is Gävle, no more. But Ane had fun, and that is the important thing. This night, we went to Gävle's theater to watch ballet exhibition. I had fun, but I didn't understand the main history, if it was one.
Friday 20. Piano Party
Annelies and Guillaume threw a party at their appartment with the piano as an excuse. We had dinner at Natalia's, so we arrive quite late to the party. Around midnight we took pulkas and we went to the hill to play with the snow drunk. We had a lot of fun! Going fast down the slope, falling and hearing Natalia singing Jotas! We went back to the party, that had continue without us, and that ends at Roger's and Dani's with an stolen piano. They took the piano from their neighbours upstairs and put it into their living room. It was a surrealistic situation seeing around 10 drunked boys holding a piano down the stairs. Ask the other neighbours. One of then open the door and looked quite shocked into the corridor.Taking advantage of the night, we took home the standard lamp of Roger's and his wife.
Saturday 21. Dinner at home+concert at the university
Yesterday we invited some belgium girls and Susi and her boyfriend (Humbert) to have dinner with us. The reason of the dinner was that Susi wants to know how to cook an spanish omelete, I think she did learn. Then we went to the university for watching some heavy concerts. They finished quite early, at 12.30, so we decide to come back for an afterparty. What was going to be the place for such a thing? Roger's and Dani's of course. But this time some swedish boys came to the party. We are getting to know the native people!
Sunday 22. Bönan-Gävle sea side
This morning we went to the sea side of Gävle. We discovered a new part of this "city". Again white and cold, but with beatiful sights and landscape. There is a lighthouse and an small beach there, and also a cozy and small cafe. The water was half frozen, but anyway the boys decided to have a bath. Crazy!
And this afternoon we have just made some chocolate mouse, maybe with the best teacher that we could have: a belgium girl. Thank you Eva for showing us how to made them!

pd. About my fabulous flat mates: Celia, swetie, don't worry, everything will be ok!

Ice skating, inaguration party, rock concert, imposible friend...

Is has been so long time since I don't write here, that I have a lot of things to tell you and I'm sure that I'll forget the a lot more.

Last friday, we went to an ice skating exhibition at the Läkerol. Is funny to see how Swedish learn skating before even know walking. There were so tiny childs trying to be up and follow the others... Really cute! and the oldest skaters (around 15) they were quite good. It wasn't like in tv, where I used to watch ice skating, but it's amazing to watch it alive, just in front on you, hearing the sound of the ice. I have a good video of the parade that they made with "Barbie" (Aqua's song), but I don't know how to put it here.

After the ice skating I went to Roger and Dani's appartment inaguration party. We talk, we drank and we laughed.

Then we went to the university to watch the concert. It was different from the other parties at the university, for start the entrance was free and also the wardrobe. It was supposed to be a rock concert, but it was more hard than rock. The band that we watch was called Nifters, here you can find a video if you are interested.

For ending the night we went back to the appartment for an afterparty. I was so tired that I came home quite early, so I didn't enjoy the after party, but the others did.

That's all for last friday.

Imposible friend!!! finally we did it this tuesday. I enjoyed and I liked it. I realized that I have strong feelings for "this" erasmus people and that is so little time left... I'm going to miss them when that is over...
Well let's don't think on that and change the subject. I received my present from Lourdes, a cute handmade heart cushion with two little penguins with our names on them. Thank your very much Lourdes! I love it!

I gave my present to Rita, it was also a handmade felt monster. I think she liked it and I'm happy for it.
There were a lot of presents and I'm surprised for how the people care about them. Laura's doll of Mateo was just OOH!, no words for it. Or Natalia's picture cube for Eli. Or...
And this last wednesday I had the interview with the company. They offered me just the subject, they are not going to pay me, I'm not going to go to the company to work and the help that I'm going to receive from them is little, very little. The subject is: "Estimate the difference of costs between windpower and nuclear power". Now I have to decide if I take it or not.

And on wednesday evening we went to the university party after a small dinner at Natalia's. We arrived at the university quite late for being Sweden and I discovered at the entrance that I had forgotten my ID at home. They didn't want to let me go in, finally I took Rita's ID and I went in without a problem. Well, that's not all true, because the girl of the entrance asked me: "your last name?" I thought for a few seconds: "was Rita's last name Piá or Martínez?" I passed the trivial question and I got in. Good night, but it could be better.

I think that's more or less all. See you next time! and please, if you read, write something below!
